DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND, WE ONLY JUST BEGUN…..

This week was a week that showed me the fun has only just begun. My label sent me to go write and record songs in Berlin. Sessions with talented German artists and producers. So I did, and it couldn’t have gone better. I met some of my German SONY family for the first time, and this was a perfect way for me to show SONY even more of my talent as a singer/songwriter and artist. I wrote and recorded 4 songs in 3 days and I’m very pleased with the result. Germany/Berlin definitely is a place I could see myself be in.

Crazy hot first day.

I can’t help it, I seriously LOVE hotels. The excitement. The “jump in bed” test. The “run around naked while checking out the mini bar” routine. The breakfast/brunch – the “DO THEY HAVE PANCAKES” question…. What’s not to like. I already wonder what my next hotel room is gonna be like.

Years and years ago, I was on this street “Oranienburger strasse,” playing small acoustic shows on a bagpacker tour with my friend, Jesper Madsen. Bonus info: I got the idea for the tattoo “I need fuel for my ego engine” on this trip after a long talk with Jesper about existence and touring and sacrificing and giving your all to yourself and music.

I met the Finish singer “Alma” and she is MIND BLOWING. Wait for it.

Was thrilled that I found an elevator that was almost as awesome as my old elevator. Elfie time, and since we were writing a song about guns, of course we had to pull our guns.

I saw this bear and took it as a signal, that the markets I’m gonna be working most in, will be Germany and USA. I’m getting more and more superstitious…. And I like it.

Max Giesinger (A German artist) dropped by the studio, after I finished writing a duet with Alma, who has one of the realest and most honest voices I’ve heard in a long time. 19 years old and from Finland. Wow. Don’t worry, you will soon hear about this girl.

In a studio-session and for co-writes there are normally 3-4 people in the room trying to create and write a song for an artist. Sometimes I’m working for my own project and other times, I’m working for other already established artists. No matter what I’m writing for, I’m just getting better and better at the songcrafting.
